Promotion Policy (2005-2010)
Government accords highest priority to the industrial
sector on account of the vital role it plays in balanced
and sustainable economic growth. It plays a crucial
role in the process of economic development by value
addition, employment generation, equitable distribution
of national income, regional dispersal of industries,
and mobilization of capital,entrepreneur skills and
contribution to exports.
To drive industrial growth by attracting private investments,
an industrial policy statement of the State which sets
out clear and credible specific measures to improve
the investment climate towards better regulation by
removing barriers to competition

Biotechnology Policy (2001)
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has accorded a strong
thrust on the Biotechnology sector. The policy on Biotech
aims to facilitate the development of biotechnology
in the State by creating high quality infrastructure
through the strategy of setting up specialized Biotech
Parks in different parts of the State, encouraging research
activities, developing human resources and establishing
links between research institutions, academia and industry.
The State Government aims to create a hassle-free environment
for the biotech industry through simplification of procedures
and a single window clearance mechanism.

Information & Communications
Technology (ICT) Policy 2010-2015
The Government had announced the first (Information
& Communications Technology) ICT policy in May 1999
followed by the second policy in June 2002 and third
policy in March 2005 for promoting the growth of Information
Technology (IT) sector, generation of employment, augmenting
the Gross State Domestic Product(GSDP) and for overall
socioeconomic development of the State.
Andhra Pradesh has witnessed high growth in IT sector
in the past one decade, due to the proactive initiatives
taken by the Government in terms of creation of state-of-the-art
physical infrastructure, provision of basic amenities
such as roads, water, sewerage and power to the doorsteps
of IT Layouts, availability of large English speaking
and technical talent pool, lower cost of operation and
innovative e-Governance programmes. Today, AP is a valued
destination for ICT Industry and the State is acknowledged
as a global ICT Hub.

Ports Policy
Andhra Pradesh was amongst the first maritime states
in 1994-95 to recognise the imperative need for increased
port infrastructure and the central role that the private
sector would be required to play in developing the same.
The port privatisation in Andhra Pradesh has been based
on Build-Operate-Share-Transfer basis.
